THE BRIEF

Our clients, a private, high-powered team of senior prosecutors with an unrivalled track record in conducting major fraud prosecutions and regulatory work.

The team had grown rapidly and they were working from shared accommodation across different buildings, which was far from ideal. This move was an opportunity to consolidate all of the staff under one roof and put their own stamp on the design of the space. The building, which is situated near Smithfield Market, was originally an engineering showroom for a Scottish Manufacturer. The lower ground was dark and we were tasked with bringing both the ground and lower ground floors back to life to create an office fit for a young, forward-thinking Law Practice.

THE SOLUTION

We worked closely with our client to ensure that not only would the space be bright, but would offer the visual privacy and sound attenuation that suits the nature of their work.

Finishes were carefully chosen following visits to manufacturers showrooms and bespoke pieces such as the 'Corian' and Marble tiled reception counter were designed and refined to our clients expectations. The huge ceiling height and exposed soffit enabled us to design statement light fittings into the ground floor. Large square LED fittings illuminate the space and help create a lasting impression.

The space lacked sufficient WC facilities and there was a requirement to install a shower. Duct panelling was selected to exactly match the laminate faced doors. Tiles to match the overall colour scheme were chosen and a high quality shower unit was also installed.

The lower ground floor lacked natural light so suspended linear LED fittings were installed throughout to keep the lighting consistent and link seamlessly with the client facing ground floor.

Carpets were chosen from the Milliken 'Clerkenwell' and 'LVT' ranges, to help create a modern working environment. To finish off the theme, concrete effect MFC desks with slate coloured legs were installed. Tambour fronted storage wall units for bulk storage were also fitted.
