Minton Keynes

Business Lounge

01 THE BRIEF

THE BRIEF

Our landlord client tasked us with enhancing the initial impression upon entering their building in Milton Keynes. The entrance featured an unattended reception area leading to a dilapidated café, through which ground floor tenants accessed their suites. The space was uninspiring, and feedback from prospective tenants viewing the empty suite indicated the need for a creative transformation.

THE SOLUTION

To revitalise the entrance and improve the initial impression, we started with the upgrading the reception area into a welcoming and modern space. The redesigned reception features ample natural light, complemented by large windows and high ceilings. Comfortable seating arrangements, including contemporary chairs and sofas, create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. To create a more natural and inviting transition between the reception area and the business lounge, we introduced elegant arches. These arches seamlessly connect the two spaces, providing a sense of openness and fluidity.

The lounge itself is designed with a modern aesthetic, featuring a mix of comfortable seating options and stylish décor. The patterned flooring adds visual interest and defines the space, while pendant lighting and open shelving adorned with greenery enhance the contemporary feel. This thoughtful design ensures that both staff and visitors experience a cohesive and engaging environment as they move through the building.

The space features a mix of high-top tables and cosy booth seating, providing versatile options for work and social interactions. Large windows flood the area with natural light from an external atrium, creating a bright and welcoming environment. Hanging plants and pendant lights add a touch of greenery and sophistication, while the bold patterned flooring ties the entire space together. The use of warm colours and natural materials further accentuates the lounge's inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both staff and visitors to relax and collaborate.

Within the vacant demise, we de-branded the existing reception area to create a neutral and welcoming entrance for future tenants. By recycling the building’s reception furniture and rug, we provided a sustainable and cost-effective solution that maintains a high standard of comfort and style. This approach not only reduces waste but also ensures that the new space is ready to impress potential tenants, offering a warm and inviting first impression.

The design features striking patterned flooring that adds a modern and dynamic element to the space. The flooring's geometric pattern in neutral tones complements the contemporary seating and clean lines of the interior. This combination of sustainable practices and modern design elements ensures a warm and inviting atmosphere that leaves a lasting positive impression on prospective tenants.
